The only reason DHS lost is because the ref was favoring Bismarck. He knew if they went into over time Dickinson would have totally won. There shouldn't have been a foul on Taylor Bruhschwein he turned around and there was the guy from Bismarck. He didn't know he was there and really couldn't do anything. No city is in North Dakota is perfect! We all have our faults but bashing one in favor of another isnt fair We choose to live here in Minot bacause its our home and we are the ones who can make a difference in our city.
I like Bismarck too, some of my family lives there. They in turn like coming to Minot. But they never belittle Minot in any way. So keep your narrowminded opinions of Minot to yourself!

Minot is a dirty town as you have seen in this form I.m not the only one who see it. It seems to be a mind set of the people in charge to make it ugly, look at the new broadway all concrete. Look how Devils Lake did there new road at least they put some brick and green on it. Bismarck when building streets as they grow, and they are growing not like Minot that is just changing, They are puting in grass and tress and at least trying to make things look nice. I don't see the knock on Grand Forks either it is pretty nice comparred to what it once was. You can drive from one end of Minot to the other on Broadway and count on one hand the number of trees on properties. I guess it's just to damn much trouble. There is however some nice stuff, like Taco Jonh's north, It's to bad we had to tear up there lawn to widen a road in a dead part of town.There place looks real nice, now look to the north of them Cenex, all cement dirt and sand all over, Premiere Vidio, there building is run down and there lot is disgusting. The chiniese restaurant on south Boadway I would never go there because of the condition of there property weeds all over, worse behind it. There is no pride in town, if there was people would clean the stuff up. A lot of the blame is on our city leaders, in the last few years Minot and Bismarck have built new Super Wal Marts. In Bismarck the parking lots are divided and sectioned with islands filled with grass and tree's in Minot there lot is all asphalt. Would They have done the lot with some style if they were required to do it. Damn right they would have and then Minot wanted the building green to reflect that we are a green town, what a JOKE. So, worry about a strip club, disregarding the fact that they have patron's, cater to the few, and keep going backwards. They fact is that Minot has always been and always will be a can't do town. I don't know any one in the other towns that come to Minot just for the hell of it. But People from Minot go out of town all the time for no reason at all. You people on charge of this town better wake up cause Minot is being left in the dust by Bismarck, Grand Forks, and Fargo. People are alway's crying about property tax, It's not so much that we don't want to pay it's what we see. In Minn. the so call land of 10,000 tax's you see those tax dollers. We need to make Minot a place that people want to come to and it's your responsibility as city leader's to do it. Reply...

I could not agree more with "Bismarck Rules". Minot definitely a new hospital. I refuse to step foot in the local hospital or clinics. I have heard from many, many, many people who have nearly died in the Minot health care system. And I heard from family members of people who have died. From being misdiagnosed to surgeries that have failed, I have heard the horrors. I just keep hoping that St. Alexius will soon be able to open more facilities in Minot. Minot NEEDS St. Alexius!

And yes, Minot does need cleaning up. It literally needs a good cleaning. The streets and some yards are so drab and dirty. I know that we do need new leaders in the city! Take some lessons from Bismarck! Reply...

I'm not a dogooder nor do I think I am better than anyone else. However, as a middle school teacher I see what a declining moral does to a community. We accept one thing, or are forced to, and then since that was accepted, another thing gets pushed through. When do we draw a line between right and wrong? Naked or semi-naked women is wrong. I agree with those saying how DIRTY Mindrot is... and NOT because of the strip clubs. I HATE going into Minot because it is soooooooo dumpy looking and such a cluttered mess. Not to mention the hospitals.... shiver.... I'd say start with your clean up THERE!!! Get some decent health care, I have had so many friends be misdiagnosed in Mindrot its not even funny!!

If people were allowed to do whatever they wanted then it's basically encouraging anarchy. Some lines have to be drawn. It's not just Minot. It's the whole nation. Government says you can't beat your child or dog for a reason ladywolf392. The reason why you people don't get noticed and nobody wants to go there, is because there is absolutely nothing going on, no changes and nothing new. People arent going to go to your city because you have strip bars. Get real. There are plenty of other places than you. At least these people are trying to change somthing. It's not the strip clubs that attract the majority of people but somthing clean and beautiful.

Get with the times and change a little. the future takes more prominance over some mild entertainment.
For the community in specific, yeah, you should have zoneing laws. If you're that desperate that you NEEEED a strip bar, whats the harm in driveing a bit further? Are you people that lazy? Do somthing productive with your time. Why does it have to be just the protesters that vote to clean the city streets up? I think it is funny that all the people on the site say how stupid Minot people are you guys are dumb if you think Minot is the only city to do this you should go for a vacation sometime farther away then the lakes and you will see that I believe every bigger city in North Dakota has no smoking in any eating type establishment. First of lets all remind ourselves How these groups gain this power!
We as a society gave them this!! why do i say this!! Because we have let people protest against smoking, how you raise your kids, if you serve your country(protesting at a soldiers funeral), how you handle your animals, and every aspect of our lives! pretty soon we will not be able to bbq in our own backyard as it will offend someone! We as a soceiety need to say a line has got to be drawn and we need to stop all of this bickering and acting like children and just learn to stay out of anothers buisness!!!
